A plan does not have to be perfect on the first attempt. Revising it is part of making it work.

Why revise a plan?

We often describe a task vaguely—“learn vocabulary, run and watch Avatar tomorrow morning.” Seeing a concrete plan reveals the details we forgot: when we will get up, what order feels better, and where lunch belongs.

Real life also changes. A new task arrives, a step takes longer, or your energy drops. Editing the plan gives you a chance to rehearse the actions and make the sequence your own before starting.

The examples below use the same morning plan throughout.

1. Regenerate from the title bar

Miss S starts the first draft at 8:00, but you intend to get up at 8:30. The entire morning needs a new timeline.

Tap the plan title at the top, add “I get up at 8:30” to the plan request, then tap Regenerate at the upper right.

The coach rebuilds the plan in place. There is no need to return home and create another task.

2. Ask the coach to change selected steps

Step four is “watch Avatar from 10:15.” You want to add lunch afterwards while keeping the earlier steps.

  1. Long-press the step → Edit Step → ask the coach to edit it. Alternatively, tap the pencil on the Steps page to select one or more steps.
  2. With step four selected, use the bottom request field for adjusting selected steps. Enter “Go to a restaurant for lunch after the film” and start the edit.

The first three steps stay in place. In the example, the coach sets the film to 10:15–12:00 and adds lunch from 12:00–12:30.

3. Ask the coach to adjust the whole plan

You would rather run before studying vocabulary. Swapping them also affects their time slots and transitions.

  1. Tap the pencil, or open … → Edit Steps.
  2. Leave individual steps unselected to apply the request to the whole plan.
  3. Enter “Run first, then study vocabulary” and start the edit. You can also drag steps into order yourself and ask the coach to reschedule them.

The coach changes the affected steps while retaining the wake-up time, film and lunch where possible.

4. Make a precise manual edit

Allowing ten minutes to walk to the restaurant means lunch should start at 12:10 instead of 12:00. You can make that small change yourself.

Long-press the step → Edit Step, change its icon, title or subtitle in the manual-edit area, then tap Save.

The long-press menu also lets you insert before, insert after or delete a step.

Use it with other features

  • A step still feels too big? Try Break Down Further and choose Coach W for a smaller first move.
  • An instruction feels counterintuitive? Ask the coach to Explain before removing it.
  • The revised sequence works well and will be useful again? Save it in Route Library.
